Pathway to Canada – Part 1

I am starting a pathway to Canada series and in the next weeks to months, I will share with you sure ways to move to Canada. This is in response to many questions I have been getting from people who want to know what options are available to them to move permanently to Canada.
One of the pathways to move to Canada is by studying in Canada. Yes! You heard right. Studying in Canada. A lot of people have chosen this pathway and are now in Canada as Permanent Residents. Are you wondering how this works?
The first step is choosing to study in Canada at a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) and securing an admission in a course that is PGWP (Post-Graduate Work Permit) eligible. A PGWP may be valid anywhere between eight months and up to three years. Suffice to say, if you do not secure your admission at a DLI, you may not be granted a study permit. Again, if your course is not PGWP eligible, you will not be qualified to apply for the Post Graduate Work Permit after your studies.
The key to becoming a Permanent Resident in Canada after studying, is getting the PGWP and after working for a year, you can then apply for Permanent Residency under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). If you have fulfilled all other requirements, you will be on your way to becoming a Permanent Resident in Canada.
The requirements for applying for a study permit in Canada includes:
A valid passport or travel document
Proof of acceptance/enrollment at a DLI.
Attestation letter as provided by the Province
Proof of adequate funds –
Proof that you have enough money to cover your tuition fees (or at least the first year of your study)
Cost of living expenses for yourself and any accompanying family members.
Return flight ticket for yourself and any accompanying family members.
Police clearance certificate – clean background and no criminal records.
Medical Exam – evidence of good health.
Proof of ties to home country.
