FEDERAL SKILLED WORKER PROGRAM (FSW)

This program is known to be one of the more popular Immigration Programs and has been known as one of the quickest, cheapest, and easiest routes to settle into Canada and is now part of the Express Entry system.

Requirements

  • A Canadian secondary or post-secondary credential, or a completed foreign credential supported by an Education Credential Assessment (ECA)
  • At least continuous year of full-time (1,560 hours in a year or 30 hours per week) paid work in the same job (NOC 0, A or B) within the last ten years OR at least two continuous years of part-time (15 hours per week) paid work in the same job (NOC 0, A or B) within the last 10 years
  • A score of at least CLB 7 in all four skills of English or French
  • Settlement/proof of funds for the applicant and any accompanying family members
  • Applicant must intend to reside outside Quebec

CANADIAN EXPERIENCED CLASS (CEC)

The Canadian Experience Class is a program that provides a pathway for people who have gained Canadian Experience to immigrate to Canada.

Requirements

  • At least 1 (continuous or non-continuous) year of full-time (1,560 hours in a year or 30 hours per week) paid work in Canada (NOC 0, A or B occupation) within the last 3 years before applying.
  • Work experience must be completed in Canada with the proper authorization
  • Language proficiency – CLB 7 for NOC 0 and A. CLB 5 for NOC B.
  • Exempt from Settlement/Proof of Funds
  • Applicant must intend to reside outside of Quebec

FEDERAL SKILLED TRADE PROGRAM (FST)

The selection for this program is based on the applicant’s qualification in a skilled trade, to reduce labor shortages in skilled trade occupations.

Requirements

  • A score of at least CLB 5 in speaking and listening, and 4 in writing and reading
  • 24 months or 2 years of work experience (non-continuous) within the last 5 years in a skilled trade
  • An LMIA approved full-time job offer from up to 2 employers for at least 1 year OR a certificate of qualification in that skilled trade issued by a Canadian provincial or territorial body
  • Meet the job requirements for that skilled trade as outlined in the National Occupation Level (NOC), unless the applicant has a provincial certificate
  • Settlement/Proof of funds for the applicant and any accompanying family members
  • Applicant must intend to reside outside of Quebec

ATLANTIC IMMIGRATION PROGRAM (AIP)

The Atlantic Immigration program is an employer-driven program. The pilot, launched in 2017 and it helps employers in Atlantic Canada hire foreign skilled workers who want to immigrate to Atlantic Canada (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island) and international graduates who want to stay in Atlantic Canada after they graduate.

There are 3 streams under this program:

  • Atlantic International Graduate program
  • Atlantic High skilled program
  • Atlantic Intermediate skilled program
